Töölö Brass, established 1980, is a traditional British style brass band of 32 brass instruments. Töölö Brass actively promotes the traditional brass band culture in Finland, and is the most well-known and valued brass band in the country.

 
Phenomenal shows in celebrations and concerts
 
Töölö Brass is a high profile and experienced performer. The band has participated in many domestic and international brass band competitions - we were positioned in first place in the 2006 Finnish Brass Band Mastership, and in the 2001 Brass Band European Mastership our position was second in the semi-professional category.

Töölö Brass arranges and performs concerts for various occasions. For instance, we produced a radio concert for the European Broadcasting Union in late 2006 in cooperation with the Finnish broadcasting company YLE. The concert was held at Kallio Church in Helsinki and it was broadcasted live to 23 European countries.

 
Harjanne
 
The band released an album, "Harjanne", in September 2008. The album comprises of modern brass band music featuring prominent composers such as Phillip Sparke, Jun Nagao and Kirmo Lintinen. Solo cornet is performed by the world famous classical trumpet legend Jouko Harjanne. His virtuosic solos accompanied with the sound of the leading Finnish brass band will offer you a spectacular brass experience.

This album is considered as a unique collection of new and traditional brass band music - even an international perspective. Some of the traditional songs such as Gordon Langford’s "Rhapsody for Cornet and Brass Band” or Phillip Sparke’s "Concerto for Trumpet or Cornet and Brass Band” are very rarely recorded. The songs, by Kirmo Lintinen and Jun Nagao, are specifically composed for this album, and bring fresh and welcome flavours to the musical offering of brass bands.
